Cllr Mick Murphy, Mayor of Newry and Mourne

Mick Murphy has been a Councillor in Newry and Mourne since 1997 and was elected Mayor in 2010.  Mick was also a former MLA for South Down between 1993-1997. 

As a native of Rostrevor, Mick is delighted to be a Challenge of Change Champion and believes a key part of his role is to challenge discrimination, stand up against racism and promote equality for all residents, regardless of their ethnic origin. Mick believes that racism and racist attitudes are not welcome in Newry and Mourne.
